Applications for smaller grants (up to £500) are considered all year round. Applications should be submitted no less than two months before the planned event - and, ideally, before the Call for Papers has closed; in the case of successful applications, this will help the Society to publicise the event at an early stage. You can expect to be notified of a decision within three weeks of your application.
Applications for larger grants (over £500) are considered thrice yearly, in the New Year, spring and autumn (please see here, on the side-panel, for the next application deadline). The planned event should be taking place no less than two months after the relevant application deadline - and at which time, ideally, the Call for Papers will not yet have closed; in the case of successful applications, this will help the Society to publicise the event at an early stage. You can expect to be notified of a decision within three weeks of the relevant application deadline; please note that the Society only rarely awards grants above £1000
